What I Do

I am a software developer, primarily developing web applications. I'm currently the Technical Lead of User Interfaces at Palisade Systems. I design web applications that are crafted to be intuitive, consistent and attractive. My past projects have ranged from custom websites, to database scraping scripts, to porting a Microsoft Access application to an intranet website. I have a special interest in doing projects at low cost for Non-Profit Organizations.

Websites have long since evolved past simple HTML. Websites are acting more and more like desktop applications by employing advanced JavaScript and AJAX driven interfaces. No longer can you simply whip something up in Dreamweaver or the like. Users have shorter and shorter attention spans, with higher expectations of the websites they visit which requires a well thought out, rock solid designed web application. I have over twelve years of experience taking projects from ideas on paper to complete applications on the web. If you have a web project that you'd like to discuss with me, please don't hesitate to email me at tsanderson@fortewebdesign.com.

Lifecycle Of A Website

In my experience I have found that many people's expectations of getting a website from idea to complete is a few steps shorter than reality. There are steps that can be taken to reduce that factor, but at the core it is just part of life. Until things start coming together, it can be impossible to see how things inter-weave and overlap which inevitably causes features to need changing or adding to.
